Final Degree Show - June 2006
Group exhibition with catalogue. The result of three years intensive work.

On the 9th of June Loughborough University, School of Art and Design had its Degree Show Private View. The show ran in 5 Buildings over 5 days. The Fine Art department was split into two halves and showed 70 different graduates work. There were well over 2000 guests both academics and from the general public. The Fine Art show utilised 2 open space studios, 2 studios split into individual 'rooms' and a space thats not quite one or the other, not to mention the students inventive use of other transitory spaces and an outside space.

My work was situated in one of the open plan studio spaces (used throughout the year for the sculptors). This was primarily because of height and the materials I was using. For the final show I wanted to show my paintings in an unusual way but also relative to their subject. As a result I built 3 large imitation postcard racks from steel tubing. My work in the final show also contrasted well against the generally monochrome or neutral work of Chris Pugh, Mark Flannigan, Doug Ballantyne and Efi Koutsothodorou.
